We received some sad news from one of Norfolk County’s most famous families.
Yesterday afternoon, the Erie Beach Hotel announced that Marjorie Schneider had passed away at the age of 101.
Marjorie, the matriarch of the Schneider family, purchased the Erie Beach Hotel in 1946 with her husband, Harold.
Their update explained that the duo laid the foundation for the hotel, with Marjorie’s recipes still being the source of many of Erie Beach’s treats.
In their post, they say they’re mourning the passing of their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but also celebrating her long life and the legacy she left behind.
