Ontario’s NDP Leader, Andrea Horwath was in Brantford yesterday, discussing Ontario’s back-to-school plans.
Horwath critiqued Premier Doug Ford, saying his government had built up a backlog of repairs that could have improved the safety of students.
Horwath adds that health experts have been recommending classrooms be kept to a maximum of 15 students, something school boards don’t have the resources to implement.
She continues, pointing out that this contradicts some of his promises.
Later, yesterday afternoon, nearly $400-million in Federal funding was announced for the province to put towards their back-to-school plan.
$100-million will go towards the health and safety components of school reopening plans.
