Port Dover will be celebrating Canada’s Day a bit differently this year.
The Coronavirus pandemic has forced the cancellation of many major events including Port Dover Lions annual Canada Day celebration.
However a group of proud Canadians have come together to organize a Canada Day event in its place called “Quietly Canadian in Port Dover.”
There are colouring contests, writing contests, home and business decorating and more.
A local Port Dover Citizen is hoping to restore community spirit with fireworks.
There will be a display over the lighthouse on Wednesday night.
With that, the person who only goes by “Paul” is reminding the public to practice social distancing and that the beach is currently closed to the public.
He is not associated with the Quietly Canadian group.
Any donation (cash or check) will be accepted by Scotiabank in Port Dover to get more fireworks for the display.
Checks to be made payable to Northstar Fireworks Entertainment.
