Matt Wilkinson, the owner of Wilkinson’s Independent Grocer in Delhi, wants people to know that his store has not been affected by COVID-19.
In a statement from Mayor Chopp last night, she explained that the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit was doing additional testing for the employees of a store in the community.
We had incorrectly identified that the store was in Delhi.
Wilkinson says that he has been receiving calls from the public asking if they had been affected, to clarify, they have not.
Wilkinson continues, explaining that the Help Norfarms project he’s working on is a separate location from the grocery store that allows farmers to safely get food for their workers.
Wilkinson says that the rumours have been troubling, especially since they have been taking every precaution to keep everybody safe.
The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit has since confirmed that they are working with the Delhi Community Health Centre to investigate a store in Vittoria.
That store has not yet been identified.
