The Coronavirus has been confirmed in Ontario but Norfolk’s Medical Officer of Health says that, locally, there is no reason for concern.
Dr. Shanker Nesathurai spoke with myFM regarding the two confirmed cases in Toronto.
He points out that one of the reasons for concern many people have is that symptoms of the Coronavirus imitate those of a common bug.
With that, Dr. Nesathurai says with an outbreak as large as the one in China right now it’s to be expected that some cases would develop in Canada.
He points out that there are precautions in place.
Continuing, Nesathurai suggests that the chances of the virus hitting Norfolk are very low.
However, he adds that if you do develop symptoms of the Coronavirus and have recently been to China, then you should contact your healthcare provider.
