In Haldimand County, police are investigating a serious head-on collision involving two vehicles.
On Thursday afternoon, emergency crews were called to respond to a collision on Highway 3 near Dunnville.
Once there, it was determined that both drivers were trapped in their vehicles.
Firefighters were able to safely extract both drivers, who were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The OPP is investigating.

A single-vehicle crash in Norfolk County.
On Saturday, emergency crews were called to Windham Road 12, where a vehicle with a 16-year-old driver collided with a hydro pole.
The vehicle was also carrying two 16-year-old passengers.
The driver and one of the passengers were able to get out of the vehicle with only minor injuries.
However, the third individual had to be removed by firefighters and transported to the hospital.
The individual was later transported to Hamilton with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are considering speed to be a contributing factor, and their investigation is ongoing.

A suspected thief in Simcoe has been thwarted by the Norfolk OPP.
On Saturday evening, police were called when a local resident saw someone enter one of their neighbour’s garages and try to steal their car.
He then attempted to flee, but was located by an officer and taken into custody without incident.
Through the investigation, police were able to determine that this was the same individual who was responsible for several other incidents in the area.
36-year-old Eric Smith has been charged and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Drugs are coming off the streets in Norfolk, thanks to the work of the local police.
On Thursday, the OPP were called to a Norfolk Street address in Simcoe. There, they stopped to speak to an individual and later arrested that individual after determining he was in possession of methamphetamine.
Then, on Friday, a similar story when police responded to a call to a Peel Street address. Police stopped to speak to an individual and subsequently arrested them after determining they were trafficking meth as well as fentanyl in violation of their probation.
Both of those charged are scheduled to appear in court at later dates.

Someone’s rush to get where they’re going nearly turned tragic.
Last Tuesday, a crossing guard was helping two young children cross the road on their way to school when a vehicle failed to stop.
This maneuver was in violation of the highway traffic act, which puts crossing guards in place to ensure that children can cross busy streets without having to worry about their safety.
The OPP has investigated this incident, but no further details are available at this time.
