The Simcoe and District Humane Society is looking for a small terrier mix named Dutch who is missing in Simcoe, and community members are being asked to help bring him home safely.
Dutch, a buff/tan Norfolk Terrier mix about 1.5 years old, slipped away during a walk with his new foster on Sunday near West Street and Lee Avenue. He was last seen around 10:30 a.m. heading south on Lee and into a driveway at Lee and Chapel.
Since then, Dutch has been spotted in the bush and trail areas between Hillcrest and Stonebridge on Oak Street, just south of Eighth Street West. Despite many people searching, Dutch remains on the loose.
Dutch is very nervous and sick, needing daily medication for heartworm, Lyme disease, and ehrlichiosis. He is not food-motivated and may only eat a bit if left alone.
If you see Dutch, do not chase him. Sit quietly and let him come to you. Then call 519-428-9161 and press 2.
