Norfolk athletes made a statement at the OFSAA High School Hockey Tournament, proving rankings don’t define a team’s heart.
Simcoe Composite School(SCS) and Holy Trinity proudly represented the region. While Holy Trinity didn’t advance past the round robin, Simcoe Composite fought their way to the Bronze Medal Game. Despite a tough 5-1 loss to Holy Cross from St. Catharines, they finished 4th in the province—a remarkable achievement.
Entering the tournament as the 16th seed, SCS defied the odds, winning key games and showing incredible determination. They battled through intense competition, knocking out higher-ranked teams and earning their spot in the semifinals.
Though they fell just short of the podium, their journey was nothing short of inspiring. Their school, families, and community are proud of their resilience and teamwork.
The team thanks sponsors: Simcoe Lions, Optimist International Simcoe & District, Simcoe Toyota, Blue Star Ford, Beach House Restaurant, Bob Foster, Nigh’s Concrete Forming, Mike’s No Frills, Millard’s Simcoe, Remax Simcoe, and Simcoe Rotary Club.
