The Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice has announced that Ontario is funding four new hospice beds to support end-of-life care in the region. This investment will help individuals with life-limiting illnesses receive high-quality, compassionate care close to home.
“This is a major milestone for our community,” said Andrea Binkle, Executive Director of the Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice. “These beds will make a meaningful difference for families facing end-of-life journeys.”
Hospice care provides comfort, dignity, and specialized medical support in a home-like setting, easing pressure on hospitals while ensuring patients receive tailored care.
Michael Godelie, Board Chair, added, “This brings us closer to building a hospice residence that will serve our community for generations.”
In 2024, the Hospice received a 10-acre land donation in Jarvis, Ontario, where the future Centre for Hospice Palliative Care will be built. Fundraising is underway for the $14 million project, with more details on development expected soon.
