A fire at Harold Pepper and Sons Landscape Supplies near Port Dover damaged a barn and dry shed connected to a home. The occupant was safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
Harold Pepper and Sons thanked police and firefighters for their quick response and expect to resume full operations by spring.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the OPP. Cold temperatures and multiple furnaces inside the building may have contributed.
Concerns are growing as fires in Norfolk continue to rise, including two suspicious barn fires in Waterford last week that caused $1 million in damages, along with earlier blazes on Hwy. 24 and in the Simcoe-Langton area.
