Nothing is better than family visiting from out of town, and kids coming home from college for Christmas. This makes for a very full house and a great festive time, but make sure it’s a safe one.
That was Fire Prevention Officer Cory Armstrong-Smith with the Norfolk County Fire Department.
He added that it takes more than just looking and seeing an alarm there, you have to make sure it works.
If you are spending time away from home with loved ones, he also suggests checking those alarms yourself.
He also asks people to read their instructions to know when the alarm is beeping for a battery dying, compared to it beeping for an emergency.
