Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) and Holmes House in Simcoe have welcomed Dr. Tanya Hauck as their new Addiction Psychiatrist. Dr. Hauck specializes in treating concurrent disorders—when addiction and mental health challenges occur together. These issues require specialized care, as individuals with substance use disorders are up to three times more likely to experience mental health problems.
Dr. Hauck brings over 20 years of academic and clinical experience from the University of Toronto. She focuses on personalized care, evidence-based treatments, and team collaboration. At Holmes House, she provides expert assessments, co-facilitates therapy groups, and helps clients manage emotions and build healthier relationships.
Holmes House offers a range of addiction recovery services, including 24/7 withdrawal management, residential programs, and supportive housing. Dr. Hauck also supports NGH’s Emergency Department by providing training and consultations.
Her goal is to expand access to specialized care, offering hope and recovery to Norfolk County residents.
