Haldimand Norfolk MPP Bobbi Ann Brady is tired of early unnecessary elections.
Bobbi Ann Brady recently tabled a motion calling on the government to fine any provincial government that breaks fixed election date legislation by three months or more.
Brady is hearing from many constituents they are not in the mood for a provincial election in the same year as a federal vote. She’s hopeful the PC Government listens.
If the bill was passed, there would be a $2 million fine to the sitting government.
It’s costly, but so is an early election.
Brady believes this is a sound motion that has a lot of support, but it likely will just sit there at least until after the Spring.
The 44th Ontario general election is scheduled to be held on June 4th, 2026.
