For the 54th year, Simcoe Composite School and Delhi District Secondary School clashed for the coveted Mud Jug in a rivalry as old as mud itself. Both teams entered the game undefeated at 3-0, but it was Simcoe who stormed ahead early, cruising to a 27-14 win.
The Mud Jug, a symbol of bragging rights between these Norfolk County schools since 1970, will once again find its home in Simcoe’s trophy case. The Sabres’ victory adds to their 2023 title. The win keeps Simcoe undefeated this season and ensures their spot on the storied jug. As this classic rivalry rolls on, the Mud Jug’s legacy continues to pass down through generations of Sabres and Raiders.
Elsewhere in the league the Waterford Wolves went down howling to the Pauline Johnson Thunderbirds, 21-3. While the McKinnon Park Blue Devils burned the Holy Trinity Titans, 34-14.
Another great week of high school football in the books, check our Facebook page for more photos.
