The Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario has announced a major success for this year’s Walk for PD, raising $506,977. This event supports people impacted by Parkinson’s disease across the region. The achievement is a result of dedicated sponsors, nearly 200 volunteers, and over 1,800 participants.
Held on September 7th and 8th, the walk took place in 14 locations across Southwestern Ontario. Families and friends joined together to raise funds and awareness, while enjoying fun activities, entertainment, and refreshments. All funds raised stay local, helping to support essential programs, research, education, and advocacy for over 10,000 people living with Parkinson’s in the area.
Communities showed great strength and compassion, proving that when people unite, they can achieve extraordinary things. The Parkinson Society is deeply thankful for everyone’s generosity and commitment to making a difference.
In Brantford, Brant-Norfolk & Haldimand County, $23,030.39 was raised. The society continues to work toward a future where Parkinson’s no longer affects so many lives.
