Teen Facing Multiple Charges After Off-Road Vehicle Incident in Langton
A 15-year-old from Norfolk County is facing several charges following an off-road vehicle investigation in Langton.
At 4:07 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2024, an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment stopped the young driver on 12th Concession Road. The officer took the teen into custody without incident.
The youth has been charged with several offences, including obstructing a peace officer, failing to identify themselves, driving an off-road vehicle unlawfully on a highway, and failing to drive on the shoulder. Other charges include not having a driver’s license, failing to show proof of insurance and vehicle permit, and displaying an improper permit number on the off-road vehicle.
Due to their age, the identity of the accused is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The teen is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a future date.
