A new twist to the water gun drama in Simcoe.
Wendy Washik was recently charged with assault with a weapon following an incident in Simcoe.
Online, Washik said that “incident” was her accidentally shooting her neighbour with a squirt gun, prompting them to call the police.
She took the case public, getting it picked up all around Canada, and had a GoFundMe page set up for the legal costs associated with this.
As an educational assistant who works with children with developmental disabilities she has been told not to return to work until after the case is done.
But now another snag has hit Washik as GoFundMe has shut down her page, with family members saying someone reported it.
It was clarified online as well that all donations will be transferred to Washik but the page has been deactivated.
They have created a GiveSendGo page to continue the fundraising effort.
Police are unable to provide much more about the incident as it is still under investigation.
