The Norfolk County Sports Hall of Recognition looks to highlight the many great athletes and coaches we have in our community, with an important event on the horizon – the Parade of Champions!
We spoke to Board member Lisa Timpf about the annual event, and some changes in place this year.
That’s not the only change, as they are switching up the dates and venue.
This way it avoids any form of “admission price” for someone to cheer on local coaches and athletes.
The hope is this will open the door for more people who are interested to swing by and check it out.
Timpf says they just may be shocked how many outstanding people and teams Norfolk has.
We asked, from the Sports Hall of Recognition stand point, why this event was important to them – as it takes a lot of research, planning, and calls to ensure everyone who needs to get recognized does get recognized.
Finally, it was noted how lucky Norfolk is to not only have this many home grown talents but to have a group that gives them their proper respect.
Timpf said there is just something special about Norfolk and their passion for sports that keeps everyone on the board going.
This year’s Parade of Champions will take place at the Port Dover Community Centre on Sunday September 29th starting at 2 p.m.
