Ontario Provincial Police and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre are warning people about the latest variation of a bank investigator scam.
The centre says the scam involves someone calling and claiming to be from a financial institution and telling the target that their bank account has been compromised, asking them to hand over an e-transfer or login information.
O-P-P say to watch out for red flags when receiving a call from anyone demanding access to financial information and to never provide codes or U-R-L links to fraudsters.
Anyone who is a victim of this fraud or any other kind of scam is encouraged to contact police and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
