It’s Local Manufacturing Week presented by Toyotetsu.
Today we are profiling Stubbes Precast.
We stopped by the office and spoke with plant manager Mark Van Wyk and Andy Hiebert, who works on the floor as a painter.
Stubbes, for those unaware, prepare precast concrete components.
This could be anything from floor panels to wall panels, putting in reinforced connections, and then ship them offsite to be used in homes and buildings.
How the business side of things works is an owner or a contractor comes in looking to building something, the sales team pitches an audio, a project manager coordinates things, it goes for approval and everything is approved and then it’s over to the plant to get ready.
Once that hard work it’s done, it’s sent off far and wide some a homes in Norfolk County to walls for large Amazon facilities.
Stubbes started off as a smaller plant, mostly in the agricultural world, and just kept expanding to the large scale facility it is today making sure to keep up with all the newest tech along the way.
The company likes to give back to the community and it’s employees as well, trying to make it a fun place to work and a great work culture.
