Ontario has launched an interactive map to help consumers find local retailers for beer, cider, wine, and spirits during the OPSEU strike.
The map includes over 1,000 local breweries, wineries, and distilleries, as well as LCBO outlets, The Beer Store, and licensed grocery stores.
Premier Doug Ford encourages residents to use the map to support local businesses and enjoy Ontario-made products.
The map will be updated regularly as more licensed stores are added.
Workers at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario began their first-ever strike on Friday morning, following months of unsuccessful contract negotiations between their union and management.
The Ontario Public Service Employees Union says workers are concerned Premier Doug Ford’s accelerated plan to expand the alcohol market will lead to job losses.
L-C-B-O retail locations are expected to stay closed for at least 14 days, though convenience outlets in smaller communities will remain open and online ordering is available with product limits in place.
