EZ Grow Farms just keeps getting bigger.
Recently, they officially opened up their newest facilities in Norfolk County—a large stretch of land growing strawberry plants with top-notch technology and a large staff on hand.
Dusty Zamecnik said they applied for that permit on July 2nd, one year ago to the date that we at Norfolk Today toured the facility.
He talks a bit more about how this works—essentially, they are getting plants ready to be planted in farmers’ fields but are not in it to sell the berries themselves.
The space is massive, and when you go through you see amazing strides in farming—from a room that looks like a cloud due to the controlled humidity to the line, every aspect of the job is carefully considered.
A lot of the tech you see at the facility you won’t find anywhere else.
One thing they found that really does work, and that they are really proud of, is the steps they are taking for their carbon footprint.
Even during our meeting, Zamecnik was fielding questions and phone calls for this busy operation but he wouldn’t want it any other way.
He attributes this growth to a movement in Norfolk, and says the future really does look bright.
