Aylmer Police say no charges are to be laid at this time regarding an investigation into an odd incident involving a van from Hagersville.
Reports of a suspicious white Mercedes-style Sprinter van were reported on Family Day, with police noting that during two incidents within a short timeframe, two males in a vehicle initiated a conversation with young females.
In both instances, the males attempted to speak with the females, resulting in a call to the police.
Police say that officers spoke with the owner of the van on several occasions in an effort to identify and speak with the operators of the van that day, but the owner was uncooperative and refused to provide the identity of the persons in question, nor have police observed the van at the owner’s residence or anywhere else to date.
That changed over the weekend, as officers were finally able to speak with the involved parties, and while Aylmer Police say they recognize the unsettling nature of this type of occurrence and take all such matters seriously, there is insufficient grounds to support any criminal charges in this matter.
