It’s time for our Year in Review segment, where we look back at 2023 and ahead to what 2024 may bring.
We sat down with Norfolk OPP Constable Andrew Gamble who broke down some of the data they collected from this last year.
While those thefts did see an uptick, other items say improvements.
Opioid overdoses also saw a decrease in 2023.
Looking ahead to the new year, one new item Gamble says they are looking forward to bringing to Norfolk is Project Safe Trade.
They are also making a data base of security cameras across Norfolk, from residental to business, that they can review if a crime occurs.
One thing that everyone is looking forward to is another year of a Norfolk fan favourite.
Government grants also allowed them to put funding towards auto theft public information sessions in the new year and hire an additional mobile crisis team worker.
He said they are looking forward to continue working with community groups and members moving forward in the new year as well.
