The Waterford Skate Park is set to break ground in April of next year, and renderings of what it will look like are online right now.
The committee shared new information online about the exciting addition to the community, breaking down some of the features for those eager to take out their bikes, rollerblades, scooter, or skateboards.
The project will take 10 to 12 weeks to complete after the April groundbreaking – hopefully making it available for most of the summer going into early fall.
The post on social media says:
“The Waterford Skate Park has been designed as an all wheels action sports park for skateboard, inline, scooter, and BMX. The park has features designed for beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders/skaters. The south side contains plaza style features such as rails, ledges, an a-frame, and manual pad. The north side contains vert style features such as a roll-in, box jump (one of few outdoors in Ontario), quarter pipes and vert wall. The east side has a large bowl and small features on the surrounding top deck. The park is designed in sections for progression from small to large features for the local community to learn and grow.
