Around 20 years of riding horses has helped Amanda Mummery get to where she is today.
The owner of Pine Ridge Farms teaches all different types of skills to young and old riders in the community.
While she has been coaching for a long time, it has not always been horseback riding.
She enjoys coaching the competitive kids, and explained the type of work that goes into preparing for competitions.
Along with coaching the students, she also has to work with the animals.
The coach said it is a really rewarding job and she loves to see how much everyone enjoys it.
Last year she coached three kids that qualified for Youth Worlds, and she was able to travel to Georgia with them to watch them compete.
If you’re interested in taking lessons with Amanda, she said it is never too late.
Mummery encourages those interested in coaching to reach out to those in the sport you’re interested in to get started.
