Haldimand-Norfolk Health and Social Services has released the findings of the 2022 Community Needs Assessment, revealing the most pressing needs of residents in the region.
The challenges identified cover a range of struggles, including affordable housing and food, feelings of stigmatization or isolation, and difficulty accessing primary healthcare providers.
Over 1,500 community members contributed to the assessment, providing feedback through surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
According to the health unit, the data will be used to design and deliver programs to impact these issues.
A comparison with the 2019 assessment shows that, although there were changes in health status and behaviours, the main priorities remain consistent.
