The former Ward 6 councillor is moving into another seat at Council Chambers.
Last night, Amy Martin took in 42 per cent of the vote and officially became Norfolk County’s new mayor.
She is looking forward to changing how people view council and the mayor’s seat over the next 4 years.
She believes that this tone will also be instrumental in getting everyone on board, noting during a media scrum following her big win last night that team work was essential moving forward.
In the end, she is hoping that the community will get behind a new council and can all start moving together forward.
Amy Martin secured 8199 votes or 42 per cent.
Former Mayor Kristal Chopp received 6127 votes or 26 per cent.
Bill Culver had 3926 votes or 20 per cent.
Ian Rabbitts got 1638 votes of 8 per cent.
David Bate got 508 votes of 2 per cent.
