Russel Colebrook says volunteering is as simple as helping out where you can.
Colebrook moved to Norfolk many years ago, getting himself settled in the community – specifically with the local Legions and the Army and Navy.
He felt it was important to spend his time and freedom remembering those who fought so he could have it.
For Russel, helping veterans and remembering our soldiers have a very personal connection.
Now, Russell mostly focuses on helping out with the Army and Navy – which he says helps way more individuals than just the veterans.
They look after our local needs and help when they can.
Outside of his work with the Army and Navy, he also tries to help out when he can elsewhere and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him behind a stand selling items or wearing a security T-shirt at a community event.
