On the first day nominations opened up, Peter Butler was there putting in his paperwork to run for council.
He is eyeing up his home community of Port Dover, where aside from a 10-year period in the military, it is a place he has called home.
Butler is of course known well in Port Dover and around the community for his work in Real Estate, and he knows one issue facing the area is affordable housing.
When it comes to some things he would like to bring to council table, responsible spending ranks high on the list.
He also believes that the public needs to be informed about what is going on, the good and the bad, so that the county can move forward together.
