Norfolk County kicked off Pride Month by raising a flag at Town Hall.
Representatives from Pride Haldimand-Norfolk, Norfolk County Council, and members of the community were there for the occasion.
Among those in attendance was Ryder Mandryk, the young advocate who recently fundraised for a rainbow crosswalk to be installed in Simcoe.
She said she was happy to see the flag flying in town.
Councillor Kim Huffman explained why it is important to the county to have this flag on display.
The flag can be seen flying at Governor Simcoe Square, alongside those of Canada and Ukraine.
