Norfolk County council is hoping for a solution when it comes to the well on Forestry Farm Road.
This well has been releasing sulphur-rich waters for multiple years, which poses a risk to both local ecosystems and human health.
At the council meeting on Tuesday the committee heard from Louis-Charles Boutin of Matrix Solutions Inc. Environment and Engineering, who conducted a study on the well and the surrounding area.
Mayor Kristal Chopp struggled with the decision ahead of the group.
Other members of the committee were hopeful this would be the solution they’ve been looking for.
After the initial preentation from Matrix, Bill Cridland, General Manager of Community Services, told council which option staff recommends.
Council voted to move forward with filling in the well.
