St. Paul’s Community Hall in Port Dover has opened a Snoezelen Multi-Sensory.
Lynda Bird is the Sensory Room Administrator, and she explained how this project first started.
From there, the ball really started to roll, and they realized there was a real chance to reach out to more members of the community.
Sensory rooms are beneficial for anyone dealing with, mental health issues, autism, social isolation, Alzheimer’s, dementia, PTSD, grief, and disabilities with many different things to see when you walk in.
That is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to things you’ll see.
The room itself is free to use, you just need to plan a time.
More information can be found on their website and you can request a time to go to the room by emailing sensoryroombooking@gmail.com.
