Several new Long Term Care beds are coming Simcoe.
The province announced this afternoon that 48 new beds and 80 upgraded beds will be coming to the Norfolk Hospital’s Nursing Home.
The plan is to tear down the current nursing home and build a new facility in the same spot that would continue to be connected to the hospital.
The planning stages are underway with construction slated for 2023.
The facility would end up housing 128 beds when complete.
There are now 306 new and 270 upgraded long-term care beds in development in Haldimand and Norfolk Counties, including the following projects:
· 68 new and 60 upgraded beds at Delhi Long Term Care;
· 58 new and 70 upgraded beds at Dover Cliffs;
· 68 new and 60 upgraded beds at New Anson Place; and
· 64 new beds at Edgewater Gardens Expansion.
