The Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show is happy to announce some big winners.
Annually, they hold certain competitions when it comes to growing vegetables, painting, photography, and more.
The biggest draw is the Giant Pumpkin Competition with Ron And Doris Wray winning this year with a pumpkin weighing in at 1,746 lbs and going home with $2000.
Locally, Jason Jongeneel won $500 for the largest pumpkin grown in and by a resident of Norfolk County with his pumpkin weighing 871 lbs.
Joel Jarvis of St. Thomas took first place and $500 in cash for the largest squash weighing in at 1,277 lbs.

The Apple Champion Award was presented to Jack, Isla, & Emmett Cleaver, Simcoe
William Hedges of Vanessa took home two awards, The Johnny Appleseed Award and The Joan L. Cleaver Memorial Trophy (Most Points)
Photography Awards
The Harold I. Pond Award donated by the Pond Family was awarded to Bruce Kirby “Nature” for Best Digital Print.
The Norfolk County Fair Award went to Annette Jewell “Port Dover Storm” for Best Black and White Print.
The Fred’s Photography Award donated by Fred’s Photography went to Kayla Winkworth, “Sparks Fly” for Best Colour Print.
Best Single Print Award went to Kayla Winkworth “Sparks Fly”
Best Photography collection of Colour or Black and White: First Place went to Kayla Winkworth “Supercross”
