United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk is once again stepping up to support the community by funding local support groups. Thanks to generous donations from individuals and businesses, United Way is providing funding to eight different organizations for the 2025–26 year.
These groups were selected based on the programs they offer to support families in Haldimand and Norfolk. United Way focused on organizations that assist people living in poverty, support children and youth, or help build strong and healthy communities.
Funding will be distributed based on United Way’s three strategic pillars:
-All That Kids Can Be
-Healthy People, Strong Communities
-From Poverty to Possibility
George Araujo, Executive Director of United Way, said the goal is to help local groups continue their valuable work. David Sykes, United Way’s President, thanked all donors and volunteers, saying their support makes a big difference.
Here’s where the money is going this year:
-Community Support Centre – Program for people aged 55 and older
-Dalhousie Place – Support for parents after separation
-Haldimand-Norfolk REACH – Volunteer program
-Norfolk Association for Community Living – Job training for people with disabilities
-Cancer Support Norfolk – Support for individuals affected by cancer
-Norfolk Community Help Centre – Services for newcomers to Canada
-True Experience – Social club for adults with mental health needs
-Strong Start – Reading and learning help for young children
These programs help real people every day—whether it’s learning to read, finding a job, or simply having someone to talk to.
