Brantford police are investigating an attempted carjacking that occurred just after 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, in the area of Richardson Street and Fordview Court.
According to police, two males in medical masks approached a person sitting in their vehicle and brandished a firearm while demanding the keys. The suspects, described as between 16 and 20 years old, fled the scene on foot toward Fordview Park after the attempt failed. No injuries were reported.
A police K9 unit was deployed and containment was set up, but the suspects remain at large. One suspect is described as white, while the other is believed to be Indigenous. Both were wearing blue medical masks at the time of the incident.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward as they continue the investigation.
