An exciting candidates’ debate is on the horizon, bringing together key political figures for an important discussion on regional issues.
President of the Simcoe Chamber of Commerce, Renée Vancooten, explains why tuning in to this debate is especially valuable ahead of the upcoming election.
So far, confirmed attendees include Nate Hawkins of the Green Party, incumbent Dr. Leslyn Lewis representing the Conservatives, and Colin Walsh for the Liberals.
Additional confirmations are expected soon, including representatives from the Haldimand-Norfolk NDP Riding Association.
Vancooten highlights the key issues that candidates will need to address and share their perspectives on.
The debate will take place on April 10 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Simcoe.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the debate begins at 7:00 p.m.
Additionally, a language interpreter will be available at the event.
Renée explains why language accessibility plays an important role in ensuring all residents can engage in the discussion.
If you are unable to attend in person, the debate will be live-streamed and later posted on YouTube. You can access the stream through Simcoe Chamber of Commerce’s website.
