MPP Bobbi Ann Brady is raising concerns over transparency in the proposed Nanticoke development, calling out Haldimand County officials for withholding key information.
In a recent statement, Brady expressed shock over a March 27th Haldimand Press article revealing that senior county staff had known since September 2024 that an application for a Minister’s Zoning Order (MZO) had been submitted by Empire Homes. She criticized officials for not disclosing this earlier, particularly as debates for two county by-elections are underway.
Brady also questioned the impact of the development on local tradespeople, warning that large corporations often bring in their own workers, leaving locals without job opportunities. She urged Haldimand County Council to reconsider its stance on the MZO to support responsible development that benefits the community. Adding another issue to consider is the proposed energy project for the Nanticoke Industrial Park.
She reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for local builders and businesses, calling for greater accountability from municipal leaders.
