Romance scams continue to plague the province, with West Region OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk saying online dating sites can be great for someone seeking connection – but be cautious.
Sanchuk victims should not be ashamed of falling for this popular scam, as he reminds everyone that the people on the other end are working hard to get that money.
A variation of the Romance scam is something called Pig Butchering.
There won’t be an emergency, or request for money to travel and meet up, instead they will want to cut you in on “something good.
