For over seven decades, the Delhi Skating Club has been a gem of the community, teaching generations of skaters the basics of the sport.
This year, the club is gearing up for its 72nd Annual Skating Carnival—an exciting event that showcases the talent, dedication, and hard work of its skaters in a fun and entertaining performance. This year’s theme is “Under the Big Top.”
That was Jackie Ryder, President of the Delhi Skating Club, promising a fun show where young skaters will impress and entertain the audience. A special highlight this year is an exciting collaboration with the Ice Crystal Synchronized Skating Teams.
Active since 1952, the club supports the community by using ticket sales and ads to fund the Carnival and keep skating affordable. Ryder admits it can be challenging.
Organizing an event of this scale is no small feat. It requires months of preparation, extra practices, costume fittings, and teamwork from dedicated volunteers, coaches, and parents. It’s no surprise the club holds deep personal significance for many, with multiple generations of families lacing up their skates on the same rink.
There are two performances on March 22nd, one at 1:00 PM and the second at 6:00 PM at the Delhi Skating Arena. Tickets will be available at the door for $10 (cash only), with free admission for children aged five and under.
With its long-standing tradition and a dedicated community behind it, the Delhi Skating Club’s annual carnival is set to be another great event.
