
A 19-year-old from Norwich is facing multiple charges after police responded to a disturbance early in the morning on Wednesday.
Officers from the Oxford Detachment of the OPP were dispatched to a reported disturbance at a residence in Norwich.
Upon arrival, police determined that an assault had taken place.
The suspect was located and subsequently arrested.
During the arrest, the individual allegedly assaulted multiple OPP officers.
Fortunately, no officers sustained injuries, and there were no other reported injuries related to the incident.
The 19-year-old accused has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:
- Assault with a Weapon (Two Counts)
- Assault a Peace Officer (Two Counts)
- Resist a Peace Officer
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent
- Failure to Comply with Release Order
The OPP continues to investigate.
