
Measles cases are on the rise in Norfolk County, five new cases reported yesterday (Wednesday) and Grand Erie Public Health is trying to combat this with vaccine clinics.
This is a highly contagious disease, spreading through the air by an infected person, and our county has seen the brunt of it’s impact within the GEPH region.
That was Acting Medical of Health Dr. Malcolm Lock during a recent press conference.
He stressed at the time the importance of making sure you are immunized and keep yourself, and others, safe.
With that, Lock said most people received their shots as a child, with no boosters necessary aside from a few professions.
If you are vaccinated, you don’t need to worry about “carrying” the virus to someone else.
GEPH is also offering measles vaccination clinics, with the first few clinics scheduled for:
