UPDATE: Due to mechanical issues the Cancer Screening Mobile Coach will not be returning to Simcoe tomorrow (Feb 20th) as expected.
This initiative, a partnership between Cancer Care Ontario and Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Regional Cancer Program, provides cervical, breast, and colorectal cancer screenings. Taylor Patterson, Communications and Engagement for the Brantford Brant Norfolk Ontario Health Team (BBNOHT) says the coach’s first visit in January was very successful.
The mobile unit is staffed by an all-female medical team. Eligible participants must have a health card or interim federal health benefits. Walk-ins are welcome, but booking ahead is recommended by calling 905-975-4467 or toll-free at 1-855-338-3131.
We previously covered the importance of cancer screening here. For more details you can visit the Brantford Brant Norfolk Ontario Health Team’s website or their Facebook or Instagram accounts.
