Norfolk County is gearing up for a fun-filled Family Day on Monday, February 17th, with free activities for residents of all ages. While some public buildings and services will be closed, families can enjoy special events, free skating, and swimming thanks to community sponsors.
Family Fun at Simcoe Recreation Centre
From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Simcoe Recreation Centre will host a free Family Day event featuring snow castle building, a scavenger hunt, crafts, and live music by Eric Brosseau. Guests can also enjoy s’mores by the campfire. Activities are weather-dependent. Pre-registration is encouraged at NorfolkCounty.ca/Encore.
Free Skating and Swimming
Residents can enjoy free public skating at Port Dover Arena and Langton Arena, thanks to local sponsors. The Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre will also offer free swims on Sunday and Monday. Full schedules are available at NorfolkCounty.ca/Skating and NorfolkCounty.ca/Swimming.
Closures and Schedule Changes
All Norfolk County offices, libraries, museums, and Ride Norfolk services will be closed. Waste collection will be delayed by one day, except in Simcoe. Essential services, including fire and paramedics, will continue as usual.
