Norfolk General Hospital Foundation is ready for an inspiring day of fundraising with a Radiothon today (Thursday).
Broadcasting live on 98.9 myFM and Oldies 99.7 from 8 AM to 3 PM, the event aims to raise crucial funds for the hospital’s Labour and Delivery Unit, ensuring that every family and newborn receives the best possible care.
The Radiothon is an opportunity for the Norfolk community to come together and support the dedicated medical professionals at Norfolk General Hospital (NGH), who play a vital role in bringing new life into the world.
In 2024 alone, 244 babies were born at NGH, a testament to the hospital’s commitment to maternal and infant health.
While provincial funding supports hospital operations, it does not cover the cost of essential medical equipment.
Donations from the community help bridge this gap, providing state-of-the-art tools and technology for safer deliveries and improved care for mothers and their newborns.
To make the event even more special, the public is invited to Riversyde 83, where a live broadcast will be hosted by long-time radio personality Gerry Hamill.
Attendees will have the chance to hear firsthand accounts from patients who have benefited from NGH’s Labour and Delivery Unit, as well as insights from donors and hospital staff.
The event will highlight the direct impact of community contributions, showcasing how generosity helps improve medical services and outcomes for families.
Guests can enjoy a coffee while participating in an initiative that will leave a lasting impact on healthcare in Norfolk County.
Every donation made during the Radiothon will go towards enhancing patient care by funding critical medical equipment and resources.
Contributions, whether big or small, play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of healthcare within the region.
By supporting the event, donors help ensure that NGH continues to provide leading maternal and newborn care to families who rely on its services.
The Norfolk General Hospital Foundation urges community members to mark their calendars for February 13 and tune in from home, work, or on the go.
Those who wish to contribute can visit ngh.on.ca and click “Donate Now” to make an immediate impact. Sharing the message and encouraging friends and family to get involved is another way to support the cause.
With the help of generous donors, NGH can continue its mission of providing exceptional maternal and newborn care.
The Radiothon serves as a reminder that by coming together, Norfolk County can help sustain and enhance the healthcare services that matter most to its residents.
