The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada has launched a formal investigation into a cybersecurity breach involving PowerSchool, a widely used student information system.
The U.S.-based company experienced a data breach between December 22 and 28, impacting school boards across Canada- with the local catholic board saying they were possibly affected.
Health card numbers, emergency contacts, and medical information is part of the data.
