A fire broke out in a garage on Nixon Road near Windham Road 12 shortly after 2:00 p.m. yesterday. Norfolk County Fire Department responded quickly and found the garage in flames, surrounded by parked vehicles, including food trucks. Fire crews managed to put out the fire, but some nearby vehicles suffered damage.
No one was home at the time, and the house was not affected. Firefighters worked efficiently despite the heat, and no injuries were reported. However, the garage was completely destroyed. The total damage is estimated at $100,000, and the property was insured.
Due to the severe damage, officials could not determine the exact cause of the fire, but it is not considered suspicious. The property has been returned to the homeowner.
