Norfolk County is inviting residents to help shape the future of its marinas in Port Dover and Port Rowan. The county is looking for community input on strategies to ensure these marinas become financially sustainable in the long term.
Last October, Norfolk County Council made the decision to retain ownership of both marinas. Now, officials are focused on developing a Marina Business Sustainability Plan to explore ways to make the operations self-sufficient. Residents are encouraged to provide their ideas on revenue generation, business models, partnerships, and governance structures that could support the marinas’ future.
To gather public feedback, the county is offering multiple engagement opportunities:
- In-Person Engagement Sessions:
- Port Dover Community Centre – Tuesday, February 18, 6–8 p.m.
- Port Rowan Community Centre – Tuesday, February 25, 6–8 p.m.
- Simcoe Recreation Centre – Wednesday, February 26, 6–8 p.m.
- Virtual Open House:
- Thursday, February 20, 6–8 p.m. (Registration required)
- Public Survey:
- Available online at engagenorfolk.ca/marinaengagement
- Paper copies available at Norfolk County Public Library branches and County Administration buildings in Simcoe and Delhi.
- Survey closes Friday, February 28.
Officials hope the input will provide insight into potential new revenue streams and operational efficiencies. For more details on how to participate, visit engagenorfolk.ca/marinaengagement.
