Mike Westover joined the Kin Club of Delhi in 2020 when the group was reestablished to help keep community services alive. The original Kinsmen Club folded in 2018 due to an aging membership, but when the county considered closing facilities the club had built, local residents, including Westover, stepped up.
Westover joined to ensure his daughter and future generations could enjoy the same opportunities he had growing up. Since its revival, the Kin Club has made a big impact, supporting local schools, long-term care homes, and community events. They donate to Christmas turkey dinners and help wherever needed, all with strong community support.
Looking ahead, the club is working on a new dog park on 10 acres of county-donated land, set to open this spring. Westover encourages others to join, highlighting the friendships and connections made through Kin Canada. “We have fun while helping the community,” he said.
